“生态文明是人类文明发展的历史趋势。”党的十八大以来，习近平总书记多次在不同国际场合发表重要讲话，深刻阐明保护全球生态环境的重要性，多次就共同构建美丽地球家园、共同构建人类命运共同体提供中国主张、中国方案、中国智慧、中国力量。

“Eco-environmental protection represents the optimal path for human civilization.” Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, General Secretary Xi Jinping has delivered important speeches on many international occasions, expounding the importance of ecological conservation and contributing China’s perspective, solution, wisdom and strength to a joint endeavor aimed at building a beautiful world and a community of shared future.

共谋全球生态文明建设 

Work together to promote a global eco-civilization 

生态文明建设关乎人类未来，建设绿色家园是人类的共同梦想，保护生态环境、应对气候变化需要世界各国同舟共济、共同努力，任何一国都无法置身事外、独善其身。

The eco-environment bears on the future of humanity. Building a green home is our common dream. Protecting the environment and dealing with climate change requires the joint efforts of all countries. No country can distance itself or remain immune from such challenges.

良好生态本身蕴含着无穷的经济价值 

Healthy ecosystems promise boundless economic potential

无序开发、粗暴掠夺，人类定会遭到大自然的无情报复；合理利用、友好保护，人类必将获得大自然的慷慨回报。我们要维持地球生态整体平衡，让子孙后代既能享有丰富的物质财富，又能遥望星空、看见青山、闻到花香。

Nature punishes those who exploit and plunder it brutally, and rewards those who use and protect it carefully. We must maintain the overall balance of the Earth’s ecosystems, not only to ensure that future generations can continue to access material wealth, but also to protect their right to enjoy the wonders of the natural world.

形成文明健康的生活风尚

要倡导环保意识、生态意识，构建全社会共同参与的环境治理体系，让生态环保思想成为社会生活中的主流文化。要倡导尊重自然、爱护自然的绿色价值观念，让天蓝地绿水清深入人心，形成深刻的人文情怀。

It is essential to raise people’s awareness of environmental and ecological protection, and develop an environmental governance system in which the whole of society participates, so that the eco-environment will become a primary focus of daily life. We need to advocate the value of green development grounded in respect and care for nature so that blue skies, green fields and clear waters will be deeply cherished by all.

生态治理必须遵循规律 

In environmental governance we should follow the laws of nature

生态治理必须遵循规律，科学规划，因地制宜，统筹兼顾，打造多元共生的生态系统。只有赋之以人类智慧，地球家园才会充满生机活力。生态治理，道阻且长，行则将至。我们既要有只争朝夕的精神，更要有持之以恒的坚守。

In environmental governance we should follow the laws of nature, make holistic and well- informed plans, do what is appropriate in light of local circumstances, and create harmonious ecosystems in which all elements coexist in tandem with each other. Human wisdom is essential to sustaining the dynamism of the Earth, our common homeland. Although environmental governance is an arduous task, we will ultimately obtain the expected results as long as we take the right steps. We must press ahead with a sense of urgency and perseverance to achieve our goals.

像对待生命一样关爱海洋 

Care for the ocean as dearly as we treasure our lives

中国全面参与联合国框架内海洋治理机制和相关规则制定与实施，落实海洋可持续发展目标。中国高度重视海洋生态文明建设，持续加强海洋环境污染防治，保护海洋生物多样性，实现海洋资源有序开发利用，为子孙后代留下一片碧海蓝天。

China takes full part in UN mechanisms concerning maritime governance and in formulating and implementing relevant rules to achieve sustainable maritime development goals. China highly values marine eco-environmental progress, intensifies efforts to address marine pollution, protects marine biodiversity, and develops and utilizes marine resources in an orderly manner, so as to leave future generations with turquoise seas and blue skies.
