Ethnic unity is the bedrock of China’s ethnic policies. It is reflected in harmonious, friendly interactions between different ethnic groups, whose members learn from and help each other in a spirit of mutual respect, trust and understanding. It is built upon the notion that all ethnic groups in China, including the Han and minority groups, are interdependent: they breathe the same air, share the same future, aspire to the same goals, and work together for common prosperity.
