人民当家作主是社会主义民主政治的本质特征。中国是工人阶级领导的、以工农联盟为基础的人民民主专政的社会主义国家，国家一切权力属于人民。习近平指出，中国社会主义民主是维护人民根本利益的最广泛、最真实、最管用的民主。发展社会主义民主政治就是要体现人民意志、保障人民权益、激发人民创造活力，用制度体系保证人民当家作主。

中国共产党从成立之日起就以实现人民当家作主为己任，团结带领中国人民进行新民主主义革命，为争取民族独立、人民解放，实现人民当家作主不懈奋斗。

Hi! Welcome to“About China”. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China （CPC）. In today’s program, we will talk about “Institutional Strengths”.

That the people are masters of the country is an essential feature of socialist democracy. China is a socialist country of people’s democratic dictatorship under the leadership of the working class and based on an alliance of workers and farmers, and it is a country where all power of the state belongs to the people. As Xi Jinping says, China’s socialist democracy is the broadest, most genuine, and most effective democracy to safeguard the fundamental interests of the people. The very purpose of developing socialist democracy is to give full expression to the will of the people, protect their rights and interests, spark their creativity, and provide systemic and institutional guarantees to ensure that the people run the country.

From the very beginning, the CPC has striven to ensure the position of the people as masters of the country. It united and led the Chinese people in the New Democratic Revolution in pursuit of national independence and liberation and making the people masters of the country.
