The third volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China vividly records a series of important statements and speeches made by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, based on his experiences in state governance in the new era since the 19th CPC National Congress in 2017. It fully and systematically reflects Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and demonstrates the latest achievements in the Sinicization of Marxism. As for Hong Kong, Macao and China's Peaceful Reunification, General Secretary Xi said:

The historical trend towards a stronger China, national rejuvenation, and reunification cannot be stopped by any force or any people.
民族复兴、国家统一是大势所趋、
The rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the reunification of our country are a surging popular trend.
大义所在、民心所向。一水之隔、咫尺天涯，两岸迄今尚未完全统一是历史遗留给中华民族的创伤。
They are where our greater national interest lies, and they are what the people hope to see. We face each other just across a strip of water, yet our two sides are still far apart.
两岸中国人应该共同努力谋求国家统一，抚平历史创伤。
The fact that we have still not been reunified is a wound left by history on the Chinese nation. We Chinese on both sides should work together to achieve reunification and heal this wound.
广大台湾同胞都是中华民族一分子，
All our fellow Chinese in Taiwan are members of the Chinese nation.
要做堂堂正正的中国人，认真思考台湾在民族复兴中的地位和作用，
You should be proud of your Chinese identity, fully consider the position and role of Taiwan in China's rejuvenation,

两岸同胞是一家人，两岸的事是两岸同胞的家里事，
We people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits are of one family,Issues between our two sides are domestic affairs,
当然也应该由家里人商量着办。
and it is therefore natural that they should be discussed and resolved by family members.
和平统一，是平等协商、共议统一。
Peaceful reunification means achieving reunification through consultation and discussion as equals.
两岸长期存在的政治分歧问题是影响两岸关系行稳致远的总根子，
The long-standing political differences between the two sides are the root cause that affects the steady growth of cross-Straits relations,
总不能一代一代传下去。
but we should not allow this problem to be passed down from one generation to the next.
两岸双方应该本着对民族、
Our both sides must live up to our responsibility, to our nation,
对后世负责的态度，凝聚智慧，发挥创意，
and to future generations;we should put our heads together, be creative,

reduce differences, and seek common ground.

Doing so will enable us to end political antagonism at an early date,
