Promoting rural revitalization across the board, better securing people's livelihood and strengthening ethnic unity

Gansu is an important ecological shelter and a province inhabited by diverse ethnic groups in northwestern China. The development of Gansu is of great significance to ensure the national ecological security and promote the unity and prosperity of ethnic groups in the northwest region.

In 2023, the province's GDP was 1,186.38 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%;

The growth rate was 0.4 percentage points higher than the expected target, and ranked 6th in the country;

The per capita disposable income of all residents increased by 7.5% year-on-year; 

The growth rate ranked second in the country, rising by eight places compared with the previous year.

The province carried out unified construction and supervision of major projects, launching 1,073 major projects in 2023, 

and 287 provincial-level major projects completed investments totaling 269 billion yuan.

The province established a "1+3" policy system, and built 3.772 million mu of new high-standard farmland in 2023;

The total grain output reached 12.729 billion kilograms, a year-on-year increase of 0.6%;

Two national modern agricultural industrial parks

three national agricultural modernization demonstration zones

and 1,325 standardized green planting bases were built.

Nine national key laboratories were successfully reorganized;

15 national, provincial or ministerial-level innovation platforms were approved;

Two new enterprise innovation consortiums were built.

The cultural tourism market recovered significantly, with the number of tourists received and the comprehensive tourism revenue increased by 187.8% and 312.9%, respectively.

Wuwei Han and Tang Tianma City, Zhangye Ganquan Culture and Tourism Zone, and Jiuquan Impression Culture and Art Leisure Zone were nominated as national night culture and tourism consumption clusters.

The China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair, the Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo, and the China (Gansu) Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Expo attracted numerous exhibitors and merchants, with the amount of investment promotion contracts exceeding one trillion yuan and the actually used funds reaching 596.13 billion yuan, an increase of 44.1% and 41.8% from the previous year, respectively in 2023.

Gansu is standing at the historic juncture when major national strategies have been implemented and its own development momentum is increasingly enhanced. With great passion and firm confidence, the province is reshaping its industrial advantages, accelerating transformation and upgrading, and constantly gathering new driving forces for development. It is believed that Gansu will surely achieve more brilliant achievements in the new stage of development.
