中共中央、全国人大常委会、国务院、全国政协、中央军委17日上午在人民大会堂隆重举行大会，纪念伟大的马克思主义者，伟大的无产阶级革命家、政治家、军事家、外交家，中国特色社会主义伟大事业的杰出领导者江泽民同志诞辰100周年。中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平发表重要讲话强调，深切缅怀江泽民同志的丰功伟绩，深入学习江泽民同志的崇高风范，激励全党全国各族人民把中国特色社会主义事业不断推向前进。

人民大会堂大礼堂气氛庄严肃穆。主席台上方悬挂着“纪念江泽民同志诞辰100周年大会”的会标，后幕正中是江泽民同志的巨幅图像，下方是“1926－2026”字标。二楼眺台悬挂着标语：“紧密团结在以习近平同志为核心的党中央周围，高举中国特色社会主义伟大旗帜，坚持党的基本理论、基本路线、基本方略，为以中国式现代化全面推进强国建设、民族复兴伟业而不懈奋斗！”

上午10时，大会在雄壮的国歌声中开始。

习近平发表重要讲话。他指出，江泽民同志的一生，是光辉的一生、战斗的一生，他为争取民族独立、人民解放和实现国家富强、人民幸福鞠躬尽瘁、奋斗终身。他领导推动社会主义物质文明、政治文明、精神文明建设和党的建设取得举世瞩目的新进展，为捍卫中国特色社会主义伟大事业、开创全面改革开放新局面、实现人民生活总体小康、成功把中国特色社会主义推向二十一世纪作出了不可磨灭的贡献，赢得了全党全军全国各族人民衷心爱戴和国际社会广泛赞誉。

习近平强调，在70多年的革命生涯中，特别是在党的十三届四中全会之后推动党和国家事业取得巨大成就的伟大实践中，江泽民同志充分展示了作为马克思主义政治家的雄才大略、关键作用、领导艺术，树立了永远值得我们学习、永远激励我们前进的崇高风范。

习近平指出，江泽民同志对共产主义理想坚贞不渝，对党和人民无限忠诚，矢志不移为党和人民事业而奋斗。我们要学习他坚定如磐的政治信仰，不忘初心、牢记使命，坚定对马克思主义的信仰、对共产主义的信念、对中国特色社会主义的信心，坚持党的基本理论、基本路线、基本方略，自觉增强“四个意识”、坚定“四个自信”、做到“两个维护”。要坚持党的全面领导和党中央集中统一领导，持之以恒推进全面从严治党，确保党始终成为中国特色社会主义事业的坚强领导核心。

习近平强调，江泽民同志始终站在人民立场，关心人民群众安危冷暖，从最广大人民根本利益出发部署和推动工作。我们要学习他真挚深厚的为民情怀，牢记江山就是人民、人民就是江山，坚持以人民为中心的发展思想，树立和践行正确政绩观，站稳人民立场，强化公仆意识，走好新时代党的群众路线，依靠人民创造历史伟业，推动人的全面发展、全体人民共同富裕迈出坚实步伐。

习近平指出，江泽民同志坚持解放思想、实事求是、与时俱进，顺应时代发展要求和实践发展需要，不断推进理论创新、制度创新、科技创新、文化创新以及其他各方面创新。我们要学习他与时俱进的创新精神，坚持把马克思主义基本原理同中国具体实际相结合、同中华优秀传统文化相结合，不断开辟马克思主义中国化时代化新境界。要进一步全面深化改革开放，推进国家治理体系和治理能力现代化，激发全党全社会创造活力，为经济社会发展注入源源不断的动力。

习近平强调，江泽民同志目光远大、审时度势，善于从中国和世界发展大势、从党和国家工作全局出发观察和思考问题，以一系列面向世界、着眼未来的重大决策、重要举措推动党和国家事业发展。我们要学习他深谋远虑的战略思维，统筹中华民族伟大复兴战略全局和世界百年未有之大变局，统揽伟大斗争、伟大工程、伟大事业、伟大梦想，统筹推进“五位一体”总体布局、协调推进“四个全面”战略布局，完整准确全面贯彻新发展理念，加快构建新发展格局，扎实推动高质量发展。要推动落实全球发展倡议、全球安全倡议、全球文明倡议、全球治理倡议，推动构建人类命运共同体，为世界和平与发展注入更多正能量。

习近平指出，江泽民同志勇于在重大历史关头和关键时刻果断决策，沉着应对风险挑战，坚决克服艰难险阻，为现代化建设开辟广阔空间、营造良好环境。我们要学习他坚毅果敢的非凡胆略，强化忧患意识，树立底线思维，更好统筹发展和安全，以顽强的斗争精神、高超的斗争本领积极应对风高浪急甚至惊涛骇浪的重大考验，坚决捍卫国家主权、安全、发展利益，续写经济快速发展和社会长期稳定两大奇迹新篇章。

习近平强调，经过长期努力，党和国家事业兴旺发达，神州大地安定祥和，人民生活持续改善，实现中华民族伟大复兴前景光明，几代人矢志奋斗的梦想正在一步步成为现实。全党全军全国各族人民要更加紧密地团结在党中央周围，高举中国特色社会主义伟大旗帜，坚定信心、奋发图强，为以中国式现代化全面推进强国建设、民族复兴伟业而不懈奋斗，不断创造中国人民更加美好的生活，书写中华民族更加壮丽的华章！

李强在主持大会时指出，习近平总书记的重要讲话，回顾了江泽民同志光辉战斗的一生，高度评价了江泽民同志为党和人民建立的不朽功勋，系统概括了江泽民同志的崇高风范，强调要认真学习江泽民同志坚定如磐的政治信仰、真挚深厚的为民情怀、与时俱进的创新精神、深谋远虑的战略思维、坚毅果敢的非凡胆略。讲话具有很强的政治性、思想性、指导性，我们要深入学习领会、抓好贯彻落实，更加紧密地团结在以习近平同志为核心的党中央周围，坚持以习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想为指导，深刻领悟“两个确立”的决定性意义，增强“四个意识”、坚定“四个自信”、做到“两个维护”，为以中国式现代化全面推进强国建设、民族复兴伟业而不懈奋斗。

大会在庄严的《国际歌》声中结束。

Xi urges advancing socialism with Chinese characteristics on centenary of late leader Jiang Zemin

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday hailed the "indelible contributions" of late leader Jiang Zemin and urged the whole Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups to continue advancing the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks at a grand gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing marking the centenary of Jiang's birth.

"We pay high tribute to his towering achievements and learn from his noble demeanor," Xi said, calling for continuous efforts to create better lives for the Chinese people and write an even more brilliant chapter for the Chinese nation.

In his tribute, Xi described Jiang as a long-tested communist fighter and an outstanding leader of the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Jiang was the core of the third generation of the Party's central collective leadership and the principal founder of the Theory of Three Represents.

Jiang was born in August 1926 in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. In 1989, he was elected general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. He passed away in 2022 at the age of 96.

About 6,000 people were present at Monday's commemoration, which was presided over by Li Qiang and attended by Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, and Li Xi -- all members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee -- as well as Vice President Han Zheng.

Xi and other leaders met with members of Jiang's family and took group photos with them before the gathering began.

FIRMNESS IN POLITICAL CONVICTION

Jiang made indelible contributions to safeguarding the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, breaking new ground in reform and opening up in all respects, achieving overall moderate prosperity in people's lives and successfully advancing the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics into the 21st century, Xi said.

Xi spoke highly of Jiang's steadfast commitment to communist ideals and his devotion to the Party and the people, calling on Party members to draw strength from his firm political conviction.

He highlighted Jiang's view that the farther the country advances along the path of reform and opening up and the more its economy develops, the more crucial it becomes to strengthen the Party's leadership and improve Party building.

On the new journey, Xi stressed, it is imperative to uphold the overall leadership of the Party and the centralized, unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee, unswervingly strengthen the full and rigorous Party self-governance, and ensure the Party remains the strong leadership core in the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Jiang always stood with the people and cared for their well-being, Xi said, calling for efforts to learn from the late leader's dedication to and profound love for the people.

Jiang pointed out that the fundamental goal of economic development is to raise people's living standards. He also placed emphasis on building a moderately prosperous society at a higher level in an all-round way that would benefit over a billion people, Xi said.

Xi underscored the importance of adhering to a people-centered approach to development and demanded solid steps in promoting the all-round development of the people and common prosperity for all on the new journey.

INNOVATIVE SPIRIT, STRATEGIC THINKING, COURAGE AND VISION

Xi commended Jiang's efforts in advancing innovations in theory, institutions, science and technology, culture, and other fields, calling for drawing on his innovative spirit.

By pooling the wisdom of the whole Party, Jiang created the Theory of Three Represents, which has further answered the questions of what socialism is and how to build it, and creatively addressed what kind of Party to build and how to build it, Xi said.

Xi highlighted Jiang's role in opening China further to the world, including leading the country's accession to the World Trade Organization.

On the new journey, Xi said, we must properly respond to the questions facing China, the world, the people and the times, and constantly break new ground in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of the times.

Jiang's far-sightedness and strategic thinking were highlighted by Xi. With an international perspective and a vision for the future, Jiang advanced the cause of the Party and the state with a slew of major decisions and measures, Xi said.

Jiang made arrangements with foresight for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and put forth a series of thoughts on foreign affairs and international strategies to advance the development of a multipolar world and economic globalization in the right direction.

Looking ahead, it is essential to fully and faithfully apply the new development philosophy on all fronts, accelerate efforts to create a new development pattern, and make solid headway in promoting high-quality development, Xi said, calling for further efforts to build a community with a shared future for humanity and add more positive energy to world peace and development.

Xi also highlighted Jiang's extraordinary courage and vision.

Jiang made resolute decisions at key historical junctures and critical moments, and responded calmly to risks and challenges, securing the steady advancement of China's reform and opening up as well as socialist modernization, Xi said.

In particular, Jiang led China to successfully withstand the impact of the Asian financial crisis and secure the complete victory in the battle against the severe floods in 1998, Xi noted.

"On the new journey, we should stand ready to withstand high winds, choppy waters, and even dangerous storms, resolutely safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and continue to write a new chapter in the miracles of fast economic growth and long-term social stability," Xi said.
